We hired Jeff to help socialize our new dog, a rescue pit-Weimaraner mix named Reeses, with our three cats. At the time, we had several gates up around the apartment and did not know where to begin – all my previous dogs had naturally gotten along well with cats, but Reeses seemed to lunge for them and interactions devolved into yowling, chasing, growling, and a scratched-up puppy. Jeff has helped immensely with this process, starting by helping us to realize that what Reeses wants is not to eat his feline family members – he really just wants to be friends with them. But what we did not expect were all the side benefits. I have had dogs almost my entire life. None of them were mischievous, and I always figured they were well-trained and well-behaved animals. Jeff proved that there are levels to all of this, though.Within three sessions of working with Jeff, this six-month-old puppy was by far the best-behaved dog I had ever had in my life. Reeses not only knows a vast array of commands, he consistently obeys them with virtually no exception. Jeff gave us simple, gentle, and easily implemented tools to build leadership and trust, not only resulting in a highly trained and responsive dog but a much deeper and more rewarding bond between dog and human. (Plus it’s pretty cool when you can whistle from one side of the park and your dog comes rushing to you immediately, regardless of distractions.) Jeff is also a man of integrity. Upon giving us the instruction and framework we would need to continue acclimatizing the dog and cats to each other, he told us not to book more sessions unless we thought it was necessary – we had the tools and a plan, he would serve as backup. I really appreciated that. We went from being afraid we would have to give up our dog to being confident that we can make this work. We went from having several gates up to separate our puppy and cats to the experiences of mutual treat time, free roaming, and an evolving and improving relationship between all our pets. What I can’t thank him enough for is taking care of my little Princess while I was away on vacation. Recently I was gone for 10 days.  Kenidee is a very nervous dog, especially around strangers, and I wasn’t sure how she’d behave without me. Let me just say, she was a rockstar!  The moment she got upstairs her tail went up and she curled up on Jeff’s couch. She and Jeff bonded so much while I was gone. From all the photos and videos Jeff sent me, I legitimately thought she might not want to come home (lol). His Disco NIGHTZ service offerin were everything Kenidee needed. She had exceptional care, additional training, Disco SNAX, Jeff’s chill dog Disco (obv), plus other dogs to play with at the park. Jeff is everything to Kenidee. I’d be lost without him. In fall of 2022, we were first introduced to CitiZEN DOG when we needed a sitter for our 1.5 year old Cavapoo Gloria while on our Honeymoon. Because we wanted to truly be able to relax while away, we needed someone that we could trust and Jeff was exactly that person! We met in person first at our apartment, and then had another meet and greet with his perfect angel of a dog, Disco - hence the overnight service called Disco NIGHTZ. Gloria was obsessed with Disco so we thought not only would she be under Jeff's watchful eye, but she would also have the companionship of Disco so it was a perfect fit. During our time away, we received many photos, videos, and other updates about what she did that day which we loved. We are helicopter parents since she's a bit shy sometimes around other dogs and only 12 lbs, but Jeff made us feel confident that everything was going smoothly. He also worked on some training skills with her which was a double bonus! She came back a happy healthy dog, and also knew a few additional commands. While staying with Jeff, she was introduced to DiscoSNAX, Jeff’s homemade dog food topper, which she of course LOVED way more than any other fresh food we had tried. She had always been a picky eater and it was a constant stress for us and the minute she started eating DiscoSNAX consistently, we had no issues. We have had two vet check ups since then and the vets have said "whatever you're feeding her is working because she’s healthy and looks great." So not only does she have a healthy tummy, but she's also just a better dog overall since our experience with Jeff.
